One of our crew members Katy Machingo, painted a mural to go where our old garage door was.With the Shop renovations we thought the outside of the store needed a bit of a brightening as well.

“I tried to feature visual bits of the NRV, like the Blue Ridge Mountains, the river bend cutting through McCoy, and how the misty fog rises in the mornings. We’re known for our amazing sunrise and sunset colors as well and they complimented some of our favorite flowers that we sell on the lot featured in the foreground. It just happened to work out that the mural had this kind of empty spot in the middle field, and when Jay and I looked at it for a second and then checked out aerial shots of the grounds of the Crow’s Nest Greenhouses it just so happened to fit perfectly! It was just meant to be. I’ll probably update bits of the mural each summer to keep it bright and relevant as well as to bring in some pollinators and other critters. It was a fun winter project for sure.”
